no pe on strawberry shortcake

Hey guys, its been a week since i bought some frags from reefapolooza. The one in having troubke with is a unique shortcake. Its on a frag rack and doesnt seem to get good pe no matter where i put it. I thought it was the location so i put one of my acros in its exact spot and seconds later, full polyp extention. Could it be mad over the dip, too much flow, too little? Alk 8, nitrate 0 phos 0.03, cal 420 mg 1300

Yes. All of the above and/or lack of light and nutrients.

I've had them brown out sitting right next to other acros that appeared to be loving life. No easy answer in my experience.

Mine do best in very high light and flow.

Time is probably #1 (though my frag from RAP has full PE and kept its color, yay!). Mine is under high light (custom LEDs) and very high flow (dangerously close under my MP10).

have had one for 2 years little to no growth then added a reef brite that thing has taken off. grew more in a month then in 2 years

I wouldn't move it around any more. Basically they need stability like all acros. Once you've chosen the right spot I'd just leave it there and give it time for PE. If the tips are white growth is there even without PE so I wouldn't worry about it.
