no Probe holder in apex 2016 model?

SO I have been thinking about a controller of course like many keep going back and forth between the classic and the new apex then there the new P4 thats out...not an easy choice. all seam to have advantages and disadvantages.

anyway I just want to be clear on this. the new apex DOES NOT come with probe holders correct? f that I find that strange.
do you need holders for them? can they be dump n the sump and work just like with holders?

I know silly question. but just want to be clear before I by it.

No probe holder. Plus a innovative marine xl holder is pretty cheapo and holds everything for me including my ato tubing and calcium reactor tubings.

yeah I was looking in to that one I like it better then the apex one.
I am just surprised one does not come with the pkg. for 800 one would think it would. well it least i think that way...
i like the company in all but often times I think they fall short.

Thats because not everyone needs a probe holder. Some have sumps that have probe holders included. Then they will be paying for a holder they don't need and they will be the ones complaining about paying for something they don't need.

Better and easier to let users decide what they need and add to it.

/\ This. My sump has the holders I needed and I wouldn't want to use others as it adds clutter to the sump.

I have the holes for my ATO, dosers, and such in it as well so no need for holders there either.

OK good point guys. but those sumps are pretty high end. I guess less than 20% have them...I could be totally wrong there. I dont think they where thinking most ppl dont need them. like lest charge 40 bucks for a holder that IMHO should be part of the pkg deal.

I think more people have things then you think Devaji. Sumps with holders are not high end IMHO. Sure some can be but base model trigger sumps have them for instance.

Most things are modular in the aquatics industry allowing us to buy what we want. I appreciate that the apex has various modules that I can buy should I wish but am not forced to.

ok maybe I am just being cheap..haha but that extra 40 could have paid the shipping on a box of corals. unlike all you fine ppl that have LFS around. every time I want a fish or coal is $40 just for the shipping.
OK RANT over.
I went with the aqua gadget for my probes.
I am sure i'll be asking you guys for help setting it up and dailin in all the fun features.

its not a spare $40 though. If they included it in with the apex it would have raised the cost of the unit. You are looking at it that the price would have been the same if they added more components and that isn't how it works with most....

I don't use probe holders at all... mine just kinda hang out between 2 baffles. No problem.

If it was added with the Apex chances are it would have raised the cost more than the $40 that it cost seperate. I don't think any are supplied with a controller other than the suction cup type for each probe. I think those are supplied with the probes though.
