No refugium, pods and Turf Algae scrubber question

ON the new sump i am getting there is no place for a refugium. I will be running a bunch of Seachem Matrix wherever i can fit it, but then i started thinking about pods for some of my fish. Then i ran across a upflow Algae Turf scrubber and people talking about all the pods in it. Could this be a solution for me not having a refugium?

No.. not really..
A turf scrubber is not a refugium..
A turf scrubber should be routinely cleaned/purged of algae.. That maintenance will remove/disperse/kill any pods,etc..

Roger. I think i am going to make some pod condos. Seed them from old tank and keep feeding Phyto.
