No room for a ball valve?

I think I need to limit my flow on my calcium reactor. I am using a Mag 7 pump and the flow is making the media spin around at the top of the reactor. I can't figure out what to do because there isn't room for a ball valve on the top. My thought was to replace the top union on the horizontal pipe where the water will enter the top of the reactor with a ball valve but the ball valves are too wide for the space I have on that horizontal pipe. Any ideas?

hmmm, since nobody has answered.... and I really don't know your length limits.... but, can flexible pvc or vinyl tubing work and give you more room to add a ball valve?

My shot in the dark.

:D

I dont see the problem to be honest. Once you cut the horizonal pipe add a small PVC extention to clear the canister to allow room for the valve.
