no shimmer from mh lights?????

I have a 22g Finnex w/ 150 mh 10k light fixture. Although there is shimmer on the wall behind the tank, there is no shimmer in the tank. What's up with that? I'm sort of disappointed. There is good water movement in the tank; all the livestock look happy...but I want shimmer!!

the surface layer of water in the main tank needs to have some ripples in it for shimmering effect

Yep, having good surface movement will give you that shimmer effect. Try angling a powerhead slightly upwards.

Thanks for sharing that tip. I'll reposition one of the powerheads.
It is wonderful the solution is so simple! I'm really thrilled with the difference the mh lighting is making in my corals; major change over pc lights.

not a problem. Lets see a full tank shot! Those Finnex tanks are really something... if i wasn't so cheap and was looking for an all in one solution I'd get a Finnex. The nanocube and aquapod don't even compare.

I'll try to post a photo when I figure out how to work the camera. I'm happy with the Finnex. Instead of using the rain trays as they are suppose to be used, I turned that side into a refugium.
