Has anyone ever tried any of the "No Sick Fish" products?

They are really expensive and I would really like some more info before I purchase. I know QT'ing is the best way to go but I think most people such as myself do not have a QT so lets just leave it at that.

YOu can do qt in a bucket with a cheap pump and filter. Cheaper and better than dumping ANY med into your display.

Please, I am not looking for Qt tips.....The purpose of this thread is to find info about the "No Sick Fish" products. Has anyone tried them????

No Sick Fish

No Sick Fish

I am currently trying this product under the supervision of my LFS owner. They are great folks and really want me to have a great experience starting out. I am trying this out in a FOWLR 125 tank. The current inhabitants are, Yellow Tang, Unicorn Tang, Tomani Tang, Striped Sweetlips, and a Blue lines Toby puffer. I am now on day three of the treatment. We keep you posted.

To date, my Unicorn Tang is looking very bad, still hanging in there though. My LFS owner called the folks at No Sick Fish to better understand their parameters for the results. Seems they had the best results with the water temp at 80 Degrees. So just yesterday we increased the temp. Will keep you posted as to the results.

i'm curious as to what symptoms your tang has, there are a number of pathogens that don't allow much time for treatment.

ICH

ICH

From everything I have read and the prognisis from The LFS guy it has ICH. Flashing, no appetite, white spots (now completely) and starting to lay on side on the bottom. Update, attempted a freshwater dip last evening, too late for the Unicorn, he passed this morning. I was really hoping the med would work fast enough to keep them going until this vicious cycle was over. All my other fish show some signs of ICH. Most however are still eating and only scratching occasionally. I have my fingers crossed. This is my second bought with this stuff. The first was on my new 75 gallon reef. After three weeks, it appears to be okay. Only fish that survived was my Purple Tang. He is now looking great, regenerating his fins and coloration has come back beautiful. This can be a very depressing hobby I am finding out. I am an animal lover to the extreme and I hate to lose any animal. We keep you updated on the rest of this treatment.

Hi bassn99,

sorry about your Uni. I had one of those.. I really liked mine.

Ich can be a nasty parasite. There was a thread awhile back about No Sick Fish treatments in the reef fish forum or something of the like.. Not one reported good results.

The problem is with an infestation like you seem to have you would be better off with proven methods to erridicate this parasite. The continous breeding cycle of the parasite and immune compromised fish will likly result in the demise of others..

Of course some fish can build up an immunity over time.. But it sucks for the loss of life that comes along with that..

The other probelm is if you add new fish and they get stressed at some point they are likly to be infected too..

good luck.. which ever way you go.

reefer_x260-I think No Sick Fish is a waste of money. if there was scientific data backing such a product that works then I would believe in it. But it seems more like a band-aid with little results..

Update No Sick Fish

Update No Sick Fish

Okay, here comes the most current update. Although I know what most folks are going to say and I am waiting for the next cycle to see what happens with this ICH problem. Day six of the treatment. As of 10:00 am CST the fish have no visible signs of ICH spots on them at this time. They are all still eating and acting normal. I know that the next stage will be the tell tale sign to see if they return after hatching again. Hopefully, this med will kill them off before they can find a host fish. I am really hoping this stuff is working. My inverts are all fine so keep fingers crossed. I still also start feeding with some garlic supplement yesterday as well to help the fishes amune system get a little stronger. I read that this stuff helps. I used Kents Garlic X-Treme on their flake and frozen food.

Update

Update

Sorry Guys, my eyes must have been playing tricks on me this morning. There are still signs of ICH on the fish. Not as bad as last night, but it is still present. Maybe it was wishful thinking on my part this soon.

i hope this stuff works,it would save me alot of trouble with catching all of my fish.........................................

Still Waiting

Still Waiting

I sent and email this evening to "No Sick Fish" letting them know I was now on day 7 of the treatment with no visible signs of betterment. Have not received a replay as of yet. My fish are all still quite active and feeding well. The Toby puffer and the Oriental Stripped Sweetlips constantly swim back and forth in the tank. The Three remaining Tangs are all still eating well too. I guess maybe the mircle cure they claim on their page does not work as fast in a 125 gal system. I don't know what size they used for their testing. I'm going to continue the treatment as long as everything still is active and eating.

bassn99,

A thought for you.

What is the therapeutic level supposed to be. With any med make sure its reaching the therapeutic level to work.

How do you test for the therapeutic level with this product. I know so many drop/gallon esc.. but what about LR soaking it up snad substrate esc..?

Hopefully something will work for your guys.. Either way I am pulling for you.

Update 01/28

Update 01/28

Lost Striped Sweetlips, Tomani Tang, Sailfin Tang. IMO this stuff is not any good at all. After treatment as per their instructions and their parameters (No Sick Fishes) this stuff does nothing to get rid of the Ich. Money wasted, well, I guess not wasted since I was trying to keep my fish healthy without Copper. I will now use Copper Safe in my display 125 to kill it out. I removed all of the Inverts out, this was to be a Fish Only tank anyway so now it will always be one.
