Nocturnal feather duster?

I bought a feather duster (don't know what type all I can tell you is that it's brown). Ever since I put it in the tank it only comes out at night. I have never seen it during the day. It will even suck itself back into its tube if I shine a flashlight on it. Is this normal? Is there anything I can do/change to see it more often? I thought it might tank a while to get used to the tank but I have had it for almost a month.

hi i dont know if thats normal but i got 3 last week and mine are poping in and out all day and all night they came out the minute i put them in. mine dont in if i put the lights on or off but they do go in the minute i put my hand in sorry i couldnt be more help.

my colourful ones dont come out under actinics????????? got no idea why that is, out during the halide day, and at night tho.... i know how much it sux to not see stuff in there, just paid 42 bucks for a peppermint shrimp that is MIA!!! and my camel shrimp has decided he like to stay all day everyday on a rock i can only see him on in the glass reflection!

hope u worm decides hes not nocturnal soon.

Thanks for the replies. I'm hoping that he is just getting used to the tank. I guess I'll have to wait and see.
