Recently purchased this juvenile regal angel--noticed that there is a white nodular growth on its lateral line. The one growth is readily apparent in the photo, there is a second similar smaller growth more caudally. The fish was just added to my 100g one year old reef tank. I cannot say for sure if this was on the fish at the time of its introduction into the tank as I placed the fish in the dark tank over the weekend and noticed the growth when I first had the lights on yesterday.
Tank parameters: sp gr 1.025 nitrates undectectable
THe fish was added to a stable group of 3 bartlett and 3 lyretail anthias which have been in the tank for > 6months.
The fish was quarantined for one month where I purchased it from (ibluewater), I chose not to QT the angel after reviewing the regal angel thread here on RC and weighing the pros/cons...
The angel is eating mysis and nori already and appears asymtpomatic otherwise.
Any advice on what this is and how to treat would be appreciated! thanks
Mark
