Hi all

Ive just set up my new system, its 5ftx2ftx2ft with a miracle mud sump system, ive got two 7000ltr return pumps going and the problem i have is that the whole cabinet is vibrating, ive turned them right down but i was wondering what would be good to use to try and insult the cabinet from the noise ? any help would be great cos the wife is on my back already :-( .

thanks in advance

hi

hi

the thing is that its full of water now and i dont realy want to empty it again, also there is not realy any room now from the head of the skimmer cup to the underside of the cabinet so cant put anything between the glass bottom of the sump and the wood bottom of the cabinet :-(

put a mouse pad under your pumps...I heard that solves a lot of the vibrating noise

You could try putting a computer mouse pad under it, or something similar.

There is that sheet material that people often lay in cabinets, or set things on to keep them from moving. I forget the name, but it is 1/2 to 1/3 less thick than most mouse pads. Maybe that would work.

Im pretty sure he has room to put a mouse pad underneath the pump only....im not talking about the whole sump...the only thing in your sump that is vibrating is your pump...all you have to do is lift the pump and put a pad underneath it

If it's a submersible pump, I wouldn't put any material in the sump (gosh I hate rhyming).

I used a piece of the foam insulation that you put under your tank under my return pump and closed loop pump. It makes a world of difference.

There is absolutly no problem with putting a mouse pad IN your sump if you have a submersible return pump. it's done all the time and will help a lot.

a lot happier

a lot happier

great job lads , the mouse pad had worked wonders, it was getting to the point where i was starting to regret the whole thing.

many thanks to you all :))
