Noisy Streams

Hi,

I have a T24 kit installed in the stream rocks. I have the pumps set on pulse mode but the noise is driving me crazy. The pumps are about a month old and are setup as you have advised others in an 8' tank.

I have moved the rocks around, jiggled the pumps, moved the cable but the pumps have a constant humming sound up and down ( a bit like german bombers from WWII).

Is this a run in problem? Should I clean them out? Please help.

Thanks

I have the same problem with a T12 kit!
When i goes above 60% it starts to brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!
It is 2 weeks old

I would make sure they are clean, make sure their is no air in the magnetic well (install the drive unit under water). I would also be sure the pump, rock or holder is not directly touching the glass. You might also try rotating the pump in the stream rock so they have the narrow profile up and down and the wide profile facing the sides. Also, check that the top collar piece, called bearing bush in the manual is pressed in firmly.

Thanks for your help on this. My manual page 27 refers to an o ring seal 7400.61 having to be integrated into the drive. I have tried the RTFM solution to my noise problem.

I am first off struggling to figure out what is the drive? its the brown bit with the propellor, right? Or is the drive the blue bit??

Sorry to be dumb but the manuals... well

You also said on another post that the pumps were the same but this would suggest that they are not. If the pump needs a red o - ring?

My noisy streams are really driving me nuts. 1 foot away for the noise, try 10!

Thanks for your help

The red or ing is a part of the fish care function, with such short rapid pulses it is needed to dampen noise. The moving part is the drive unit- part 6080.60. The driver is the blue box part 7240.26 or.27. If you were to upgrade to .27 the small oring comes with this part but is not included with the 6080.60 since only the electronic pumps with fish care need this part. I have really given you every solution i can. I can only suggest sending it to Graeme for repair or a look over. I cannot see a scenario where anythiing more than a minor part adjustment is required or perhaps a new drive unit.
