The 2 Council spots availible the coming elections are:

Council member-Membership
Council member-webmaster

Section 3- Nominees must have been a member in good standing for at least six (6) months.

Section 4- All nominations for Council Member must be submitted with the prior consent of the nominee by the deadline of the October General Membership meeting for publication on the society web page.

Why would it only be 2 positions? Being that most would assume they all take place together on the same 2 year term?

Because we are rotating 2 out and the other 3 next election reguardless. We plan to do what the bylaws say to do now rather than complicate things later.

Joe,
How is this done? I would be interested in running for Council member-webmaster. Am I suppose to just say this or are we suppose to ask someone to nominate us...lol..

Joe, who are the two council members that are currently holding these positions? If no one currently holds these positions who are the council members spots that will be open.

brian gast....for sure and unsure about the other current council member. Because the other council member has told me directly i'd rather not post it yet. But in the best intrest of the club one of us will make a spot availible :)

I ask because I was wondering if any members that might be in the position might want to be re-elected and nominated for their current position.

currently...I guess it may be confusing to some but because of the staggard elections 3 of us will stay and 2 will go. If anyone who held a council seat wants to run again they can ....and possibly get re-elected. As stated in the bylaws..."Section 2- There shall be no limit on the number of terms a member can serve."

If Joe is ok with it I would like to nominate him for webmaster. I am curious if the membership post has any other requirements than those stated.

I think Linda C should be nominated for something, she's a positive influence on us all and contributes more then alot of us do !!! I think she would fill one of the council member spots well !

:)

Why would it only be 2 positions?

To ensure a cleaner transition without losing knowledge or momentum from the previous members. That could easily happen if the entire council is turned over at once.

I would also like to point out that as there is no executive officer (pres/Chairman/Vice pres...) all council members share those duties.

Wow, thank you for this honor Matt. I am very interested, but I'm at a very busy point in my life right now and would like to take a day or two to think about it to make sure that if I accept the nomination, and am voted into the position I will be able to dedicate the time necessary to do a good job for the club.
