Noob needing ID help and advice

A big thanks to all who replied. I'm not excited about the bryopsis, but am glad it does not look like anything other than cyano and GHA in other parts of the tank. I know there are a couple of threads on using Tech M and I may start a thread of my own detailing my experiences with it. Certainly good husbandry is a must for my tank in general and I will be continuing to monitor my levels and keeping a clean tank otherwise.

I Just wanted to add. If you did not test your nutrient levels before the Algae started to dominate your tank. You could have had Phosphates and maybe even nitrates at High levels. The algae grows and Consumes these Nutrients and then your test kit shows low amounts.
This can VERY Often be the case. In this situation Scrubbing the rocks Out of the tank and good size water changes will be needed to Maybe Lights out time for a few days to help kill off the Algae.

There are just soo many variables .The only Truly wrong Thing to do is NOTHING.

Yeah, I take it back. That's bryopsis :(
Idk what the best approach is when you have so much diff stuff going on. Like is it better to get nutrients under control and manually remove as much as possible until only bryopsis remains, and then treat with mag, or lights out and then cuc, or mag first...
It's usually not a great idea to change more than one thing at a time in a tank but scorched earth is tempting too.

Just whatever you choose, I think it's best to make a well-researched plan and really stick with it. Sounds like you are on the right track. Good luck!

Yes, absolutely. My nitrates have been reading 0 (though from what I've read it is likely something a little higher than this) and my phosphates have been around0.04 to 0.08 WITH all the algae so likely the phosphates are high. I have added phosguard to my canister filter and have really restrained my feeding habits. My plan is to manually remove as much of the bryopsis as I can while I dose Tech M. Also my tank is still stabilizing as I am in month 4 so some of the algae may be a stabilization bloom. Regardless ridding myself of the bryopsis and getting into good husbandry habits will only help me.
