Bubble tip anemone, Entacmaea quadricolor, is the natural host for maroon clowns. It is very likely your clownfish will take to your BTA.

most likely, there are always outliers, but for the most part maroons will host in bubble tips and carpets

Minutes, days, maybe months. If it's a wild caught fish and being it's natural host should happen quickly.

That could be a problem for the anemone.And i mean stress for the smaller anemone.

Maroons can be quite rough on a nem. Watch your BTA closely to make sure if when your maroon starts to call it home, that it doesn't love the nem to death.

my tank breed clowns never went near my nem for months. i got really annoyed and put the nem and the clowns in a small spare bare tank and they eventually found out thats where their home is. Since then, they love the nem.

I put my nem where my clowns liked to hang out. Took them a week but tonight they just started hosting it. They are tank bred Ocellaris clowns and still both very small, maybe an inch in length.
