Normal Mystery Wrasse behavior?

I knew they killed shrimp, but my mystery goes after anything that moves on the rocks including snails and hermits. He hasn't even looked at my coral banded shrimp though. The shrimp is pretty big and was in the tank prior to the Mystery so that may have something to do with it. He also gets along with all other fish.

Is it normal for them to attack snails and hermits?

Thanks...

If they qualify as crustaceans! Sorry bro.

My neighbor had one that was super agressive. About 4-5" in a cube 60g and became very territorial. Despite cleaning out his ornamental shrimp(s), it would attack and harass smaller clowns and damsels, at will!!! Even picked on his Accessor and bullied his Tomini Tang too...mean little guy...but pretty colors!

I have had 2 Mystery wrasses.. First one started in a 55. He thought he was the king of that tank.. Made new fish jump, chased, harassed some to death. Also picked at hermits cranbs.. Once I moved him to a bigger tank with bigger fish he calmed down. He would be eaten if he didn't... That one died in a tank move.

Second one I have is very passive and docile.. He lives in my 220 FOWLR with large angels, and triggers ect... No issues what so ever with new guy... Haven't seen him pick on anything or anyone....

sorry to say ,but i dont like myster wrasses because of their aggresive tendencies once they get aquainted and it will get worse with age as they are a pita . i have had a few and removed then to sell to someone else that liked them . i think they should go in a morey eel tank myself .

Lol at law.... Expensive treat.. I have 2 eels with my Mystery... Zebra and dwarf... No issues... :)

well of corse there are no issues the dwarf and zebra are so docile they wont eat anything that is a challenge . if he went in my tank with any of my eels he would disappear in seconds ,not even a chance for survival .
