WTB Aptasia rock.

Who has a rock with lots of aptasia on it? Nothing else. I don't want any other pests. I will pay you for it. $20 or something depending on the size of the rock. If you prefer I have an orange fungia I would be willing to trade for a rock or two covered with aptasia.

Please PM me if you have such a thing!!! Your help is much appreciated in these difficult times!!

Go to SW Aquatics, Rob usually has a good amount in with the inverts as food for some of them. Or Pet Land, their LR grows the stuff well.

we got in like 200 peps in that last few weeks so not a single aptasia in the verts unfortunately. I had a ton saved up and took the peps about 2 days to clean em out.

I was the king of aiptasia a month ago. thanks to my 8 peps I only have 5 or 6 left. I was freakin out though where were you. I even made a aiptasia please help post. I know someone that has a whole tank full, but they live in picture rocks. If your interested in contact info send me a PM and I will do my best. She has more than you could ever need.
I have to ask why?

Not if you keep peps, UV sterilizer would work on the return but I just usually stay on top of it with peps and ap x.......UV for high flow cost to much and puts in too much heat.

still looking...Is petland still open? I thought they closed? Majestic would have worked, but I don't want flatworms, just aptasia.

i have glass anemones i think they're called. or ball anemones? they're pretty clear with pink balls on the end.

either name they're a pest. lol

ok so i just googled and they seem to be a type of Pseudocorynactis.
ive been wondering how they have been surving and spreading so crazily in my nano. (there are no fish or anything, just rocks sand and water, although it is full of pods) and it says they eat small fish/ mobile inverts. so im guessing they are going to town on my pods. whch makes sense; my pods numbers are decreasing.

hmm anywho dont mean to hijack the thread but if your looking for Pseudocorynactis instead of aptasia i have em lol

I want aptasia not majanos sorry. Rob says his buddy (marine biologist) did a study that showed aptasia killed the swimming phase of ich. I have done this before in other tanks and have seen what appeared to be results.

When I first bought a used reef tank complete with livestock I had no ich. I killed all the aptasia, and presto! ich. I then replaced the aptasia in the sump only and presto! no ich. I replaced the sump (thereby removing all the aptasia) and presto! ich. I replaced the aptasia, and presto! no ich.

So I have heard of a study (haven't seen it) that shows this conclusively, and have tried it myself and it seems to work. I have a new tank now and only 2 aptasia. This is apparently not enough to do the job. I therefore want more aptasia.

Help pls!!

Petland at Wetmore and Stone has tons of it growing in their LR. Buy one rock and you are guaranteed to have tons of aptasia in no time.
