Not enough light

I had a 12 LED light on my 10 gallon but it broke so now i have a 6 LED light over it. My zoas are melting away. I have a 54' 6 bulb tek Light not in use right now. Can I put that over the tank. I have really nice zoas and i don't want the to die.

Sure you could, a little big for a 10 gallon, but it will certainly work fine.

I would hang it kinda high at first.

3 feet or so.

Too much light too quick is just as bad as not enough.

it will work just fine... double/triple check all water parameters before determining if it is the lighting.
