not really new but a noob question

Hey guys i am battling some hair algae growing on my sand bed, I had a ammonia spike and i think that caused it to start now i am trying to get rid of it. What is the best way. I know the length of time the lights are on is a major key factor in it. Is there anything i can add invert or fish wise that will eat it? Its a reef in the making so would have to be reef friendly.

Being that it's on your sand bed you could just siphon it out. Keeping things like Phosphates & Nitrates low is probably the most important factor though. The sand can always be cleaned and then returned to the tank later.

Btw, Turbo snails have been known to eat GHA on occasion.
