So I bought a ric from an LFS a few weeks ago, it was like this washed out greyish white with a bright pink mouth. It looked just like a ric, but ive never seen a white one, so I thought I would take a chance and get it, and if it was just bleached out and colored up, well than that would just be cool to see. Its been about two months now and has colored up a bit. the edge has a blue hue with some green in the mix, but is still predominantly greyish white, but the little "bubbles" are more tenticles. Could anyone tell me what this thing is, and if its ok to keep mixed in with my other ricordeas?

i think i got the same 1 like yours. the same color but after few month in my sump with other rics, now the color get better, the base turn to abit purplish..

Looks like one of the shallow water variety of florida rics to me. They tend not to be as brightly colored (do come in a nice fluorescent yellow/green variety). They also grow quite a bit larger and are a bit more "sticky" than the deeper variety ones.

It's a ricordia, they just do that sometimes for who knows what reason. Have you tried feeding it just to see what happens?
