The fish I am concerned about are my yellow tang, but more so my Acanthurus japonicus. The yellow tang was under the same symptoms as the A.japonicus, however now it seems to be pretty clear of anything that was priorly on it.
The two fish were both added simultaneously.
Worst affected areas appear to be the pectoral fins and the bridge along the top-front of the head.
1. How old is this aquarium?
Was an upgrade, transfer was about 5 or 6 weeks ago.
2. If less than six months old, what is ammonia level?
Zero and has always remained as such.
3. What is SG of this aquarium? How measured?
1.025 via refractometer, very steady, ATU in use.
4. When was the last fish added to this aquarium?
16/06/2013 (the fish in question) so two weeks ago.
5. Was it quarantined? If so, how? And how long? Was it prophylactically treated? How?
Not at home, QT'd at FS for 2 weeks only for inspection, went through a 4 week period of copper treatment in the FS system, the fish were taken directly from the system with copper in.
6. If you are using a copper based medication, which one? How often do you measure level? When?
N/A. Unaware of the copper treatment they are using, but they maintain their FO system constantly under the use of copper.
7. Please describe in detail, the appearance of the fish? If there is one or more pimples, are they lumpy? What color?
See photos.
9. Please describe the behaviour of the fish as best you can. Is it acting reclusive? Is it always up towards the top of the aquarium? Is it avoiding light? How active is the fish?
Fish is very active, not over-active. No increase in respiration rate, no reclusivness. No aggression now between the fish, was a little aggression between the Ctenochaetus tominiensis and the Yellow tang (chasing) on addition, but after a few hours, that settled.
No scratching either. Eyes are clear, fish is rather healthy other than what can be seen in the photos.
10. Is the fish eating? What?
Everything, new era flake of all kinds, krill, mysis, brine, red plankton, different mixtures. All sorts of algae, green and brown, as well as new era mini marine grazers. He is constantly grazing. Has a nibble on omnivore/algae pellets also.
We do have a group of 6 P.alleni. the female (or so I presume) has recently gone into spawning 'mode' I am led to believe, and has been recently excavating, thus kicking up lots of sand and dust. We have been told over the phone that it could possibly be foreign objects, like muck, stuck in the fish's mucus.. Though I am a little dubious.
The A.jap. has first seen these marks about 9 days ago, and they haven't changed as much since. The yellow tang, now seeminly recovered did have bumps over the skin, but these have gone. Again no scratching/poor diet with this fish.

I've had to omit a photo to qualify the posting, so check post number 2 for the omitted image.
All these photos were taken about half an hour ago.
So I'm unsure as to whether this is actually what I thought it was (WS) or whether it is something different.
Hopefully some knowledgeable person can shed some light on this for me.
Thanks, Ben.
