Not sure what this is.

Having a problem with one of my saltwater systems. Certain fish I put into the system seem to be having problems (Mainly Groupers, Lionfish, Angels and certain butterflies) At first I thought it was Ick, but then after a few days their fins and scales would begin to rot off (almost reminds me of a PH burn in Freshwater fish). Then Death.

I treat all my new arrivals with a freshwater bath with Methalyne blue before I put them in. We slowly acclimate (1-2 Hours). I have inverts throughout the system for cleaning purposes, so I do not run copper in the system.

My Parameters are:
Ammonia:0
Nitrite:0
Nitrate: <5 ppm
Salinity: 1.023
Temp: 78-80
PH: 8.0-8.2

Any Ideas what is going on or a med that can go in the system to treat it.

sounds like maybe a bacterial infection or maybe ammonia or nitrite poisining, how long has this system been up and running??? butterflies, angelfish, and lionfish are all very sensitive to water quality????
