I bought a NEW tank, and wanted to drill it, so I needed to figure out if it was tempered or not. I emailed them and they basically said all their tanks get the same sticker saying not to drill, and that there is no pattern at all as to what glass they use on any tank. They said it could all be regular glass and one side, two sides, the bottom, or any combination. They said to take it to a glass professional, which isn't easy to do around here, and I'm sure they would feel hassled and/or charge me a "hassle fee."
I then went to youtube, looking into the lcd screen, polarized glasses, and all that stuff. None was very conclusive at all.
Then I was on the phone, pacing the floors and noticed some small markings in a bottom corner. They etched into the glass, saying it was tempered. It would have been nice if the lady had told me that.
