Not too bright on lights...

Seeing that I'm not too bright on lights I thought I'd stop by here and ask. I plan to purchase a Coralife Aqualight Pro (150W) for a 20L. I know that 150W is more than enough for a tank this size but here is my question. I was thinking if it's possible to buy a 250W fixture for a *possible* future 30G or 40G cube and instead of running a 250W bulb, use a 150W bulb for the 20G until I move to a bigger tank. This would prevent me from having to buy another fixture in the future. So is it possible/safe to run a 150W bulb in a 250W fixture?

Thanks.

Just get the 250 and run it about 12-14" above the tank.

I had a 250DE over my 20L, and the spread isnt very good when its any lower than that. Its now doing a fine job over my 58.
