Not truly sure if they are Zoa...

Hello, I've just purchased a couple of new live rock pieces to reconstitute my dormant 75 gal reef tank. I'm happy that my rock came with a couple of little polyps! They've grown a bit and I would love to identify them.

The first I believe to be a "Brown Button" and from the reading I've done they are in the Zoa family?

The second is a Zoanthid "I think" What strikes me as odd is that the little guy reproduced by splitting and does not have any sort of matte. Oh and they move around quite a lot too.

Hope you guys can make more sense of them than I.

Thanks,

The first picture does look like brown button polyps. I'm not sure what the polyps in the second picture are but maybe majano anemones from your description of how they split and move.

Aww crud. Just my luck. I thought those little ones were all cool looking. The more I read the more you sound right on that one. They do seem quite a bit like the majano. Man I hate not knowing all this stuff. I keep getting the "Surprises".

Thanks much for the help.
