Notch in clownfish tail

My juvenile black clown has a round notch in it's tail. I'm assuming it's a bite mark since I have an aggressive damsel. The only thing that has be slightly worried is that the area around it is slightly brown. It's not ragged or frayed, just a little off color.

Does it sound like it's a bite, or is there some super rare crazy clownfish disease that presents this way. (I'm working on removing the damsel. The problem with smart fish is that they are smart.)

I'm working on removing the damsel. The damaged area is a little worse today, so it looks like I'll need to start treating him for an infection.

Thanks for the input!
