Nothing sticks to this plastic

OK I have 1 1/2 year old son that decided to stick a linken log into a running box fan.One of the blades snapped off and I've been trying to fix it(probably not worth the time but so what).
The whole fan blade assembly is made from one piece of white molded plastic.
So far I've tried krazy glue,2part epoxy,weld on16,and pvc primer and cement.Nothing sticks.
My next thing to try is a torch to melt it together.If that does'nt work-in the trash.
Any ideas what will stick to this plastic?

approximate the edges and melt it together with an old soldering iron

Roughen both edges with with coarse sand paper as well as the area an inch out from the break; the rougher the better. Use a 2 part epoxy and a short bristle brush and make sure to really work the epoxy into the rough profile with the brush. If that doesn't work you're pretty well sunk.

Can't use too much glue or else you'll add too much weight to a single fin & put the fan off-balance.


Also, many plastic parts are molded with coding that tells what type of plastic it is. Try to find it, then look up proper bonding procedures.

usually you can buy those fan blades very cheap, under $5 at a appliance parts store. if i'm not mistaken they are the same type of fan as in your range hood or duel fan window fan.

also Daemonfly is right, if you throw the fan off balance it will wobble and be noisy and because it's out of balance will not spin correctly or not spin up to speed anymore.

wont the balancing be off and it will make noise ?

I'm going to try the soldering iron approach when I have time.
Not worth trying to find a replacement blade,I think the whole fan was $10 new...
