Well i have been waiting for a good deal on a larger tank and finally got on a 8x2x2 acrylic. The tank will be a sps dominated tank. I will be putting some LPS in there as well. The sump is only a 60g and will be placed under the tank and in the stand. I will be using 2 little gaints(mmdqx-sc3) for the returns. I am planning a ATI bubblemaster 200 for a protein skimmer. It is rated for 240 heavely stocked tank. The movement will be provided by the 2 gaints and a 2x6100 with a multicontroller and maybe a wavebox. Lighting will bring some does and donts but i had alot of success on my 120 which was the same depth as this new tank. i plan on 16 54 watt T5 all by ATI. I have 300lbs of southdown and about 200 of LR. I am debating on using probio or doing a zeosystem. i hope i can get your ideas here. i will be adding a chiller in a few months.

Do you plan on taking down the 120 and putting the 240 in it place or setting the 240 and moving the contents of the 120 into it?

What reflector and ballast are you looking at or are you going with a prebuilt fixture?

Steve, you are going with a skimmer rated up to 240 gallons? Maybe you should get one that handles a tank a little larger then yours, like 300 gallons. I'm not sure how that skimmer works, but I have always bought skimmers that are a little bigger then the reccomended tank size.
