Weirdest thing happened to my female maroon clown today, it may have even been my fault. :( I have a rose bta that had an imcomplete split a month ago and I decided to cut the remaining side so that it could recover. FYI, the bta had split only through one side of the mouth and had completely divided into two feet. It had not finished splitting at the mouth though, so it hadn't reformed a functional mouth and couldn't eat (that's what worried me). I took a fresh blade to cut the 'nem and my maroon clown female defended her bta, bit me a couple of times and then I realized that she hadn't gotten a grip on the blade! :eek1: At that point, I aborted my cut in a panic that I could have cut my clown. I gave her an inspection and saw nothing, breathed a big sigh of relief!

Two hours later, I decided to give it another try but be more observant of where she was in relation to the blade. That's when I noticed she had popeye on the right! Awww, nuts!! The eye was still moving normally and she could see out of it (based on my very limited visual assessment, LOL). I went ahead and cut the bta (it's doing fine, btw.) and kept going back to check on the clown. I expected to see it getting worse and the eye to cloud up. It's now 4 hours since I first noticed the problem and the eye is COMPLETELY NORMAL again. Huh?? All I can figure is that maybe she bumped her eye when she was wrestling with me and now the swelling has gone down. Does that make any sense? I'll be watching her like a hawk for the next few days and will let you know if it happens again.

If the eye is normal now I would assume ( I know, I know) she might have bumped it defending her nem. I would just observe for the next 24 hrs. and take appropriate action if need be.
