Here is my question. I have a 180 FOWLR. I had 13 fish in it, and several came down with ich, 4 weeks ago. I removed all my fish and split them up into a 75 gal, 29 gal, 24 gal, and 10 gal, qt tank. They have all been in hyposaliny for 3 weeks with all going well. About a week ago, it suddenly came to me that I was missing a small 6 line wrasse, which I thought had made the switch over to one of the qt tanks. I looked in the 180 and couldn't find him. I thought maybe he got stuck in some live rock and died when I removed it all from the 180 to catch all the fish. My plan was to leave the 180 fishless for 5.5 weeks, to insure all ich was gone.
Well I was looking in the refugium last night and low and behold, there was the 6 line wrasse. Still alive and well. With no signs of ich. My question is, since he has been in the system the whole time. Once I catch and remove him from the fuge, will i have to start the 5 week clock all over? What is the shortest time I can leave it fallow, and still get rid of all the ich. I sure don't want to return all the fish to have it start all over again.
