Got snails? Could be eggs from them. My Ceriths & Turbos went a year laying eggs all over my tank on a bi-weekly basis. Now when the lights go out at night all the little tiny younglings cover the rocks & glass. (hundreds maybe a thousand or more) Have you thought about revoving the rock they are on into a holding tank, just to be safe?
i was thinkin maybe snail eggs.....they are holding onto a small colony of zoanthids....which i have in QT... when will i know when its safe to put them back in the tank?
After the eggs are gone & the lights are out (night time) for a couple of hours, look to see if whatever hatched is out on the rocks & glass. Baby snails only come out at night to feed. Being so young though they will be all white & very small. You might need a magnifying glass to get a good look at them once you find one. Then again it might take months for them to grow a little larger before you find them. Hope this helps & best of luck to ya.
