I just purchased some pulsing xenia and found a nudibranch on the rock they were attached to.

It's not a tiny nudibranch. I'd guess it's about 1.5 - 2 inches long.

It's brown, but does look cool.

Does anyone know if this is a pest or if It's OK to leave in the tank?

Anyone know what it eats?

Thank You!

Since it kind of looks like Xenia, my bet is that's what it eats. If so, I wouldn't mind having it, as I'm sure a lot of others who have Xenia growing like weeds!

Sympodium, daisy polyps, clavulara, zoas, paly and more soft corals to list...get it out of the tank fast,,hope there is not more of them,,they are coral eaters and lay eggs in the MILLIONS..would be nice to see a picture of it in a container but be safer than sorry.
I had bought a 4" blue/green sympodium coral and found two of those nudis in the tank after the fact..It took them 3 days max to eat all of the sympodium coral down to the rock..nice and blue,,just like the sympodium this ***** mowed down

Just to give an update..

The bad news is that it ate my xenia and as started to munch on my zooanthids. (I only have a small $5 frag thankfully)

The good news is that the tank only has a few frags in it (plus some toadstool mushrooms) and my torch.

I'm worried about the torch, but I have not been able to find the nudibranch again.

Any advice on finding it?

Edit: I just started a new job, so I have not had a lot of time with my tank lately.
