I've got a seio 820...

anyone know if these slugs might get themselves trapped on the intakes?

Yup, it has an inward suction, they can get stuck

I've lost fish to those things too! Granted higher powered version (1500)

I lost a seahare on an 820.

I had a seahare get stuck to a Seio2600.. oh boy let me tell you, I tried to gentle pull him off (after unplugging the thing of course), he started to ink the tank.. I yanked the whole thing out of the tank and let him ink all over my hand, ended up needing to get the dremel out to cut a bar out between the slots making a triple wide slot but managed to pry him free. His head looked mangled, didn't get chewed up by the impeller either. Didn't know if I should risk putting him back in the tank.. I did, and it paid off he pulled through with flying colors!
