Nudibranch, slug what is it?

So yesterday a group of polyps on my sand bed were kind of closed up and such which was kind of odd considering they looked so healthy the day before and usually are wide open and their fingers were long and pointy. Tonight I come home they are all closed and look kind of skinny and see something just past them that looked like kind of like the shape of Xenia but brown and not pulsing. As I looked closer it started to elongate and look like it was moving. I head a chopstick and disturb the sand next to it and it scrunched up. ***?! I proceed to push it towards the glass and get him again the glass, it starts crawling up, I get him on the chopstick and out him in a cup. What is it? Is it the reason my polyps were closing up because all my other polyps are fine? I did just add a new polyp rock about 2 weeks ago and did not dip it because they came from a frag tank at one of my LFS and haven't had any problems before. Sorry for the crappy phone pic.

That's definitely a nudibranch, most likely that is the reason. What you should do now is dip your corals if possible then start searching for eggs. You can search nudibranch eggs on Google and see what to look for. Good luck

Thanks, just needed some verification. So Bayer dip?

Yah that would work great

Well found eggs on 2 of my polyp rocks, the third does not seem to have any. I pulled them all from my tank and placed them in a tupperware on my glass hood between my tank and lights. Guess I'll get some Bayer this weekend and dip them but also keep them out of the tank for a couple weeks to make sure there are no more eggs. Do they only lay eggs on polyps?

Should I remove my Frogspawn and Favia or do you think they will be ok in my tank? Should I dip them too?

I haven't spotted any other Nudibranches today but I'll keep an eye out for them. If there are more will they starve to death without any polyps in the tank or will they eat my Favia and Frogspwan next?

Well the eggs you would need to remove them manually/scrape them off, and im not positive hopefully someone else could chime in but I think they only eat polyps so everything else should be safe and if they only eat polyps then if there's anymore, they should die if they don't have anything to eat.
Good luck
