Nudibranch

nudibranchs aren't snails. They are nudibranchs. ;)

And they are all obligate feeders. Each one will have a specific food they eat and only eat that one thing. If you can't provide it they will die.

I saw one, a little over a centimeter in length in my tank about a year ago. Never seen it again since. It was pink, and I want to say trimmed with white or yellow. Don't they pollute the tank when they die?

Nudibranchs are really difficult to keep in a tank as they have special feeding needs. Some will only eat specific sponges or anemones, and can be finicky eaters even when those are provided. I wouldn't mess with them unless you do a lot of research into them and know you can provide food for them.

the purple ones are the ones that only eat a specific type of sponge. it is almost impossible to keep one feed. it sucks how the really cool looking things are the hardest to keep.

You really can't keep nudibranchs but you can keep slugs which people mix up but they are an entirely different animal. This picture is one of my lettuce slugs and they are vegitarians as are all slugs. Nudibranchs are generally brightly colored and have what looks like feathers on their backs which are gills. Nudibranchs are all carnivores and eat a specialized diet which you will not be able to provide unless you live in the Caribbean and have access to a lot of live animals that you could collect to feed your nudi.
