Number of Wave Pumps for 500lit Tank

Hi Guys
My tank size is 120X60X60 (CM) or 47X23.5X23.5 (INCH).
How many wave pumps I should install?
I currently use 1ea of Jebao RW-8.

Another question, how important it is to install the pump in the opposite direction to the overflow?

thanks!

It all depends on how much rock you have and what corals if any are you going to put in your tank. It's always best to put the powerheads on opposite sides of the tank facing each other so the water flow becomes erratic this creates the best flow for your tank IMO and IME.

How much flow to put depends on what I said above. There are really no set rules because all tanks are different some need more flow some need less.

As an example my tank is mostly LPS corals with a few leathers and a few SPS. My tank is a 40b which is 36x18x17. I run 1200 gph in my tank and it's perfect for it. I do have several other powerheads but don't need them in my tank. I had tried to run an additional 800 gph powerhead but it was WAY too much for my LPS corals.

Did you not understand what I posted? The answer is the same whether you have a reef or a FOWLR it's the same info that I gave you.

OH and FYI a Marine tank means it's saltwater, A reef tank is saltwater. If you plan on putting corals in then it becomes a Reef tank. Where did you get that I said anything about a reef?
