Nuvo 16 start up...

I wish I can afford all those nice toys for my nuvo, seriously I don't think you need a protein skimmer on a nuvo 16, just do big water change and add some chemipure and purigen.

**update**
So we are at 90% ready to start making water, here are some pics of the empty system with the replacement Nuvo 16, I like these guys.

Fuge Set up is a Finnex HOB w/ 22watt LED Wht/Blue, it may be too much but if it is, I'll move it to the first bidder!

Picture is pretty bad but I drilled additional downward holes into the spray bar to allow water flow through the fuge, and running it with a cheap 120gph mini ph.

I know, those are probably way too many LEDs, we'll see though

Thanks for peeping!

The only change that was made was on how the display is divided. The black acrylic wall is now supported by a glass sheet that goes from the bottom to middle of the filtration side.

Apparently the first gen had issues with sealing at the base of the acrylic that allowed water leakage from front to back. They did a great job resolving this issue.

Here's a pic, not a great camera and not great at picture taking.

Looking forward to updates on the Finnex Fuge

Looking forward to updates on the Finnex Fuge

I think the Finnex fuge is the best add-on for the money on this Nuvo16 (or for any 4 to 16 gal nano). Please keep us posted with pics if possible on how you utilize the HOB fuge. I am ready to purchase 3 of these and would love to learn from your progress (or lack ther of)...good luck

PS - I agree that the NUVOs and Innovative Marine are the only choice for AIO NANOs! I had an issue and called, I thought they were going to come to my house at one point...almost had to clean the place. Luckily we resolved due to their exhaustive efforts to make me happy. Love those guys!:love2:

I just got the Nuvo 16 and Maxspect Razor as a package deal with 10% coupon from MarineDepot last week. Good thing I waited since I almost bought them separately costing $230 more (and I would have never used the 2 Innovative Marine lights anyway). Here's my tank pre-set up for location but still have to do a leak test. Let me know what dimmable percentages you use for your 6 time-points on your Razor. Mine will never be at 100% max which should also prolong the life of the lights.

acuario: MarineDepot actually just created a 10% discount code for everyone to use the same week they put the combo Nuvo 16/Maxspect Razor on sale. I recommend you "like" the MarineDepot facebook fan page to stay up to date with all their specials and future coupon codes. They also do great customer service from their facebook page as well.

I haven't filled my tank yet since I'm waiting to see details on the upcoming Nuvo 24 gallon tank which should be announced this month. "Might" sell my Nuvo 16/Razor pending what they release with the 24 gallon.

finally...water and rock

finally...water and rock

So I got busy and put the set up on the burner...well, I found myself some time and here we go.

Couple of things...

I bought everything from my LFS, they do a great job and really not that pricey for NYC.

About 20lbs of Live Sand
12lbs of Live Rock

The Vortech is running on Lagoon Mode, I like that it rolls hard and soft.

My lighting TPs are:
07:00: 10% B 20% W
12:00: 50% B 60% W
15:00 80% B 90% W
19:00 75% B 40% W
22:00 45% B 5% W
24:00 1% B 1% W

Here's a couple of storm cloud pics, more to follow as the tank clears.

smy168 I was wondering if you had any corals set up in your tank yet and if so how are you liking the R420R lights? The stock lights are not nearly enough for what I have in my nuvo 16 so I am looking to upgrade my lights.

I have mostly softies and a single frogspawn right now, getting ready for some acro frags in the next couple of weeks.

The light is fantastic but I only run it at about 70% max, 120w is way too much for this "short" system especially since I have a 3.5 inch sandbed.

I think you should look into their nano 60w if you really want to be able to use the system the way it's suppose to run.

I'll get some pics up tonight.

Looking nice man!

I rock the finnex on my jbj12 (soon to be RSM 130D!). It's a great little work horse.

Are you going to put more live rock in, or leaving it as is?

Updated Pics

These pics are from my phone so they aren't great. The light is fantastic and the MP10 is what gives me my issues as far as setting the modes to not go insane with a DSB. only fish I have roaming around is a Pygmy Angel, Sixline and Randall's Goby.
