Nuvo 8 lighting with boost led 30

Hey everyone. I have a Nuvo 8 gallon, which is 11.8" x 12.2", and about 15" high. I just purchased a Boost led par 30 light with the gooseneck, and was just wondering if this light will be enough. It's my first go with led lights, and I just want to make sure this light is sufficient enough for soft and lps corals. Thoughts?

Following this one. I am planning on doing the same with my Nuvo 8. Instead of the gooseneck I found a floorlamp that has a reading light attached to it that i was going to use to "spotlight" my Nuvo 8.

I also have an 8g. In which I recently added a par 30 led. I'm trying to find out if my corals are going to grow or not. And how close or far away the light needs to be. I currently have an open brain coral, frogspawn, green star polyp, pulsing xenia, 2 maxi minis, 5 mushrooms, and flowerpot coral.

The boost par bulb was one of the very first par bulbs I ever purchased. There decent bulbs, and should do just fine for softies/lps. You'd be amazed how much light/par they put out. I'm not sure which optics you chose, but obviously the 40* will have deeper and stronger light than the 60*. Start the bulb off roughly 8-12" off the water and see how the corals react, and adjust accordingly. I had the 60* bulb 2rb,1cb,1ww,1cw and got good 12"by12" coverage.

I think there should be some pics here somewhere cause I also have the nuvo 8 and would love to see these tanks you guys are talking as I am just starting mine lol

What don't you like? I have recently gone to a ledtric full spectrum bulb. I'm not sure if it's the color you don't lik, but overall I think it looks pretty good. As far as the height I would let the corals tell you.....basically watch and see how they react, although 8-12" is a good starting point IMO.
