O/T Need help with a puppy name

As most of you know I had to put my puppy down almost a month ago. It was the hardest thing I ever have had to do. Well I thought it was going to take me awhile before I was ready to get another dog. I was wrong, it drives me nuts to come home and not be greeted by my puppy. So I desided to get another Boxer, but this time instead of getting 1 from a breeder I desided to go the Boxer Rescue of Central Florida and save a Boxer from being put to sleep. Lucky for me they had a 1 year old that was days away from being put down. He meets everything I wanted in a Boxer and I meet his needs. So im getting him tomorrow. I cant wait. What I need is help with a name. I have brought it down to 2 names I really like. Tyson or Diego. Both are names from either a Pro Boxer or a UFC Fighter. So help me out, which 1 should I pick.

Tyson
 
Good luck with your new pup! How about Champ or TKO ? When I think of Tyson I think of a stuttering chicken rancher....:D
 
I followed Mike Tyson when he was young and under Cus D'Amato training in the Catskills. He was a great kid. But, once he traded managers he went way down hill. I'd think Diego a much more noble name than that of someone who bites off people's ears and rapes women. Good luck with your new puppy. I went through the name game last month and decided on Guppy the Puppy for my new little guy. I applaud you for going through the rescue process...lots of dogs out there that need a good home! Marcye
 
Oh man I really like Chance also , thats a cool name. So far with my myspace post most people have chosen Tyson, but I think cause its more of a trendy name. So im kinda torn, most people think Tyson im leaning more towards Diego. I love Mexican names. So I dont know, im torn. lol
 
A pic would make the choice much easier, but I understand you don't have the dog yet.
I would agree with Me no Nemo, Tyson doesn't "deserve" your dog to be named after him.
I would throw into the mix Cus, after Cus D'Amato. That is just me. He is deserving of that kind of respect for what he did for the youth.
If you want to go with the "Mexican" name, how about Tito? After Tito Ortiz.
 
Man hearing you say Tito break my heart. lol That was my last dogs name. That was the coolest name ever and he was the coolest dog ever also, I still shed a tear when I come home and hes not there waiting for me.

Dude, I am truely sorry to have even mentioned that. My bad man, my bad. I wouldn't have said that if I had known.

I like Chance as well! Now, if you really want to name him after a great fighter...Cassius Clay would be the man! I met him several times and my kids were friends with his daughter when they were really young. Despite his tough image, he was really a very nice person. We used to go watch him spar in his camp near our cabin in the Pocono Mts. But, his name just doesn't roll like Diego or Chance. BTW, I do like the name Tyson, but just agree that a great dog doesn't deserve to be named after that particular fighter. GL...it took forever it seems for me to decide as well? And of course, we will expect pics as soon as he's in the door!
 
Yeah, but it's Mohamed Ali. He converted and I respect his wishes:)...Ali would be a good name. I still think that Dioji (D-O-G) is a perfect name for a dog.

That made me laugh because when the time comes and we get a dog, Brannon wants to name it Doiji! lol
 
Dioji happens to be the name of a local K9 officer that was killed in the line of duty, along with his handler Matt. That name to me, will only be one dogs name. RIP Matt and Diogi. Lakeland PD misses you two.
 
I am more leaning towards Diego cause I love Mexican names. And Diego Sanchez is a awesome fighter also. lol I cant wait to get him, I could hardly sleep lastnight. I have pics of him now, but there all from the kennal and I dont like them so as soon as I get him home and can get some pics I will post them. Thanks everyone for the help.
 
What time are you getting him and are they bringing him to you?
I like Diego, reminds me of the Sabertooth tiger in Ice Age. :)
