I just got 2 ocean revive t247 fixtures for my 55 gallon tank. switched over from aquatic life 4 bulb fixture -ati t5s. I have a FOWLR with BTA ..What timer settings should I run channel 1 and channel 2 on ? and how intense for both channels? I currently have them hanging 7 "over tank and I'm running channel 1 at 60% for 10 hours and channel 2 at 25% for 9 hrs. Does anybody have a better idea on how long and how intense? ..thanks I'm new to LEDs ..I don't want a huge algae bloom. can I run them longer with less percentage of intensity? all comments are welcome

Not familiar with this light. What is the PAR rating and are you keeping any corals or just the 'nem? What do the separate channels control - type of light (blue, white, UV, actinic?) The fish won't care. And if the nem moves you know he doesn't like it.

These look like Black Box Chinese style lights. One channel is going to be the blues, the other channel is going to be whites.

I run the blues for one hour before and one hour after the whites.

As for the percentage, I'd run the blues at about 60(which is where you are) and see how the nem acts. I would adjust the blues up or down to keep him happy. The whites, adjust to what looks good to your eye, but the higher you put them the more likely you will get an algae bloom.

If you have a PAR meter you can use it to hone in the settings better, but I think you have a pretty good starting place already. I'd adjust to keep your livestock happy at this point.

Great fixtures. There are several good threads on the other site that I cant link to as RC has it blocked about these lights. In there, they have some timer settings and power levels and such.

Second the motion about watching the nem very closely. Its behavior will tell you how it's inclining, and if it's uncomfortable. If it should start to move, don't hassle it. They have no brain, just a polling system, and if its parts say move, it'll do that until its parts vote don't. And that will depend on the light and water quality. I put my blues on an hour before the other colors start ramping up, and leave them on an hour after, for a twilight.

Hey I ran them for over a year I ran blues 100% and whites & colors at 10% blues for 10 hrs & whites & color for 4hrs

I'm having a brown algae out break . so I cut the whites down to 9% for 4 hrs ,and left the blues at 60% for 10 hrs .. we will see

When you switch to new lights, it is always a good idea to slowly ramp them up. Corals will need time to acclimate to new spectrum and PAR so start of low and work your way up really slowly.
