Oceanic Salt Mix

I was at a LFS and they said that the Oceanic salt mix has a new fomula that raises the ALK. and lower's the calcium. I've always had a problem with calcium being too high.

Is this true? Should I keep buying the new Oceanic and was about to buy a new type of salt mix.

We just bought a 90g container of Oceanic in lieu of our normal Reef Crystals, so I would also like to know if this is true.
Anybody have any input?

I've always used oceanic and had great results with it

I too use Oceanic but have thought of swiching to a different brand - high in calcium - every time I mix oceanic salt mix with RO water, I would always get high in Calcium and almost every time my test result would be at a high 500ppm!? So I end up mixing it up with IO. I'm just sic of it. But when I was told by a lfs that oceanic has a new formula that lowers calcium a bit I thought of asking RC people if they've heard of it.

Oceanic user here sick of it for the same reason as you tagging along to see what you find out.

Well, I just bought 2 200gal buckets at the lfs because it was on sale ($45). Tested the first 2 batches. Both came up slightly positive for both nitrates and phosphates. I'll use it anyway because I don't have any corals yet, and wont 'til this salt is gone, most likely. Maybe it was on sale because it's the last of the old formula, but I doubt I'll buy it again.
