Oceanic Tanks

Hi,
Can someone tell me the price of an Oceanic 75 gallon RR, and a 125 RR?

I am wondering if I should just skip out on the cheap All-glass tank...

bought mine off of someone getting out of the hobby -- got everything for $1400.00 and sold most of the stuff -- net I paid $200.00

Hello
I have both...
Oceanic 75 RR was $399.00 in 1999 and the Oceanic 125 RR was $450.00 in 2001. It had a scratch in one panel, hence the low price.

I bought my 135 Oceanic for $599 at my LFS. I believe the 125 was $569. The new Oceanics have a special glass on the front pane similar
(but not the same) to starfire glass.

holy crap, i just got my brand new 75 gal megalfow from AGA for $208 with tax. Is there really a big difference between oceanic and aga tanks?

i heard they cannot be drilled but i believe you can order them drilled to your specs.......not 100% sure

Do they only have tempered bottoms though? I could get the reef ready 75 with the holes for the overflow already drilled, but I would want to drill holes in the back for a closed loop...

remember, texas folk get a a better deal b/c oceanic are made there.

the best prices i could find in the northeast were at:

thatfishplace.com

elmersaquarium.com

so anything thats close is good for me, which is roughly $320.

!!very important fact that many people overlook when pricing aga and oceanic!!

oceanics come with the plumbing for the overflow, aga's do not. and they usually cost another $50 or so making the difference just a few bucks.

for example (taken from elmers good pricing):

aga reef ready $220+plumbing kit $50= $270
oceanic reef ready $320+plumbing $free= $320

for $50 its an easy choice. anyone who has ever seen an oceanic or aga side by side would say the same. $50 in this hobby is not pennies, but the lint in our pockets, its just nothing. youll spend more in gas on a few trips to your lfs. but its worth tons as the point of a fish tank is to look at it!

so unless you like the aga better theres just no good reason not to get the oceanic.

hff

That's exactly what I wanted to know...Thanks!

I am just hoping now that the sides are not tempered on the Oceanic tanks.

So is the glass supposed to better or something?
Did I miss something? If the AGA w/plumbing is $50 less (which it's not here) why would I get the oceanic unless there was something better about it?

I got my 125AGA for $300 plus worked out the megaflows for $40 each ($380 out the door)...

thats the question i asked earlier. Please somebody humor those of us that have not seen oceanic and aga side by side.

Either way, both beat my 10 year old 29 gal hex ive been using so at least i can't go wrong.
