OCEANS MOTIONS Revolutions

I AM LOOKING AT THE OCEAN MOTIONS SETUP FOR A CLOSED LOOP SYSTEM ON MY NEW TANK. THE QUESTION I HAVE IS DOES ANYONE USE THE REVOLUTIONS ADAPTER? IT LOOKS LIKE A GREAT IDEA BUT WITH NOT SEEING MUCH ON THE BOARDS MAKES ME CAUTIOUS.

THANKS

Sorry....how I read what you "wrote" made it sound as if there was a new adapter piece to them.......Well with that said I do use the revs on some of my lines on my 8Way........3 work good, but 1 seems to be hanging up and not rotating like it should.....I've cleaned it several times and can't find anything hanging it up, but still doesn't rotate....All in all they are rather "neat", but they do hang down in the tank a bit....I think the picture on the site is a little deceiving IMO. Part of the skirt must be submerged underwater to get them to operate properly.......But if you can get over seeing them down in the tank a bit I think you'd like them.

I have to doing that......works rather nice IMO....The first one I put in like that worked perfect, but had to tinker with the other I put in like that.

Chriscobb do you have any pics of your tank showing them? I am leaning towards putting them in right now.

You can also have them popping up in the sand from the bottom.
Can these be used horizontal?

Here's a pic of a version 12 in my tank. I have 4 of them connected to a 4-way powered by a Reeflo Dart. They are very simple devices that work great. They can be damaged during install by trying to tighten them by turning the whole body. What happens is the little plastic screw can cause a nick/ridge that can cause the revolution to hang up.They are easily taken apart & repaired with a fine file/sandpaper. You should only tighten them from the shaft. I do have to clean the coraline algae, from the shaft every few weeks/month with a toothbrush, from the units that are in very close proximity to the lights.

Here's what 4 look like in a 210gal.

What made you pick version 12?

I wanted a variety of angles for the water flow. Since the 210gal is 30" deep, I felt it was the best option.

Prugs I was looking through your gallery to see if you had any other pictures and noticed your sump. Is that a 75?

Yeah, it's an old 75gal tank from days gone past. Works for me. I had limited space to make a very compact setup.

Sorry late getting back to the thread.....I haven't upload any pics on this site.....Honestly haven't been able to....need to play around a bit more.....I'm running the 8Way with the Dart on my 240......I have to agree about nicking them, and that will cause them to hang up and not rotate......

If you look at the website you can see that you can get different variations of the revs. Some will rotate 180, 360 or 90 and you can also get your outputs at different angles as well.....Honestly don't know if you could use them horizontally....
