ocellaris issues

I have 2 Ocelllaris clowns I purchased at same time, same size about 9 months ago. I have seen them pick on eachother before here and there, but I recently added a large H Magnifica. It has been in tank for about 2 weeks and 1 of the clowns immidiately hosted it. Problem is the other one is trying to host it also and the hosting clown is being very mean, fighting/biting at the other clown ALL the time keeping it on opposite side of tank or at water edge. I figured it would just be a phase but now I have had to removed the clown that was less aggressive as it was actually starting to take pretty bad battle damage and I was worried. Any ideas? is this normal. There both still exact same size and no definition of a female.

if i had to guess it was less of the new anemone and more having to do with size. if the clown were small when you got them it easily could take 9 months to reach maturity. the problem you have now is theyre both reaching maturity at the same time so competition is fierce. unfortunately for one of the two, it is a lot weaker than the other and is taking a beating. if im right i think honestly your best bet is to trade the beaten up clown in to your lfs, wait like a month and let the other clown turn female then buy a small oc and you should be good
