Octagon 10 gallon nano

Hey there! I am totally new to this hobby but I always found reef interesting. I have read a lot and watched some videos about setting it up but still - it is better to read and learn more from others experience as well. I was just wondering - what do you think about the set up for now? Is it alright for a clownfish to begin with? Still in a process of cycling, don't want to rush anything ... Thanks :)

The tank looks great so far. Do not add any livestock until the cycle is complete. Your tank is small and probably too small for a clown long term, a Firefish, a smaller Goby or a Tanaka's Pygmy Wrasse would be a better choice of fish.

I wouldn't put a Maroon clownfish or a Cinnamon clownfish in a tank that size, but I think you'll be ok adding a pair of Ocellaris clownfish if that's what you prefer. Standard 10 gallon tanks are used to breed these fish if I'm not mistaken.

Thanks for the answer guys! Thegrun I am bit scared of a Firefish because they tend to jump out as I have read somewhere ... And desjardini yes! That is what I was thinking of - one or maybe a pair of ocellaris nothing more - I am well aware of size of the tank

I would not put a single ocellaris in that tank, let alone a pair. They will get up to four inches and need a bigger tank

Most hardware stores will do custom screens. Just make sure you buy the UV netting (not metal) from a local or online retailer first...give them them the netting and the dimensions and they're off to the races. Of course, you could also do it yourself with a screen kit...but some of us are too lazy for that (me) ;)
