Octo Coral

Well I made the trip to Aquatic Technology Sunday. I picked up a piece of Octo coral red gorgonian. He opened up right away and was eating by night fall. They are low light coral so I shaded the area he is in. Has any one here ever attempted to keep them here? A lot of articles I have read have them listed under hard to keep corals. Sorry for the bad pic. It looks a lot better in person. It is a deep red color with red polyps.

Hows the water flow in your tank?
What filter feeding foods do you feed? Phyto feast? Roti feast?
Do you feed liquid foods?

Flow and the right foods are the key, also that coral will die rather quickly if you have a nitrate problem.

I fed him Cyclop that I got from Greg, I have a max jet 1200 with the attachment blowing across the tank. I have three peices of
gorgonian lined up on the other side of the tank. The current bounces off the side and moves them pretty good. I do not use liquid food.

You should get some nutramar ova from him, it has like 4-5 times the protien of cyclopeeze and its the same partical size. I'd also pick up some shellfish diet or phyto feast as well.

Good luck
Erik

Got a full tank shot?
