Tank Tour

The October meeting will be organized as a tank tour. We will visit two reef tanks in O’Fallon, MO on Saturday Oct 14 at 10:00am. Membership is not required to attend, but we will be accepting new member applications from anyone interested in joining SEASL. As always, everyone is welcome to attend our meetings.

The meeting will begin at John Legate’s (Fade32 on RC) home. John’s address is 1 Crazy Horse Court, O’Fallon, MO 63366. As many of you are aware, John has a custom-made 450 gallon acrylic tank in his basement. It has been running since about February of this year and it is a great mixed-reef display.

We will then move to the home of John’s parents, Gary and Sally Legate, and his brother Kenny, who live just around the corner. Their address is 32 Treaty Court, O’Fallon, MO 63366.

The Legate’s currently have 3 tanks, including a 58 gallon SPS/LPS tank, a 180 gallon softy tank, and a 300 gallon holding tank that is temporary housing until their 375 setup is complete. Brother Kenny also has a 200 gallon fish only with live rock and a 75 gallon “miscellaneous” tank. This family certainly loves reefing in economy sizes!

Come on out and join us for this tank tour. You are sure to see some interesting aquariums, meet some fun people, and have a great time with your fellow hobbyists.

Remember, SEASL meetings are a great time for trading fish, corals, & equipment. So post your buy or sell desires on the SEASL Frag/Item Swap Page and make your exchange at the meeting!

As an added bonus, our tank tour is just a few miles west of Marine Solutions . We’ve included a map from the Legate’s home to Marine Solutions for anyone wishing to stop by after the meeting.

We look forward to seeing everyone at the meeting.

Thanks,
Brad, Becky and Tom

Just a reminder that SEASL members (with their membership cards in hand) get a 10% discount at Marine Solutions.

If you have not seen the Legate Sea, it's worth at trip to their beach.

OH YEAH! I forgot to mention, the Legate's have a "shoes off" policy in the house. Please wear easy-off shoes and help keep the place clean so John doesn't have to whip out the french maid outfit, m'kay? :D

haha nice!
to early to tell yet, but i'll definatly try and be there
i will probably have some xenia and green star polpys to trade/give away.

SEASL? How to join?

SEASL? How to join?

I've been out of the business for a bit and trying to get started again. After doing some searching I came across reef central - SEASL.... How can I be apart?

As soon as SEASL.org is back up and operational, you'll be able to go there and get info on joining. Unless one of our officers wants to jump in here before that and get you going. Either way, welcome.

Looking for live rock...

Looking for live rock...

As I said before.... I'm getting back into the bus. I'm currently setting up a 150 reef in my newly finished off basement. Yeh! IT'S ABOUT TIME. I'm starting from scratch. After moving around several times, I’ve finally talked my wife into it. I also have the location and space now. So! I'm looking for a good place to get a bunch of "uncured" live rock. Can you all help me out or point me in a good reliable direction? I'm looking at buying about 150-180 pounds of Fiji to start it up.

ooooo....I'll be forming a non-line the night before outside their house. There will be a campfire and sing along. :D

no no....a NON-line. When the time comes, I'll hand over to the rest of you how you're going to organize the non-line, then I'll run in and get first pick while you're all confused with that.

(after removing my shoes, of course)

:p

I think if you want a Vlaminguy you would have to go through Shelly first.

Looking forward to seeing you all out in a few weeks.
