lThe October Meeting Will be October 28th 2007

This is planned to be an auction meeting so I need volunteers to work this auction.

This gives everyone plenty of notice and I expect volunteers now.

This is very important as we need at least 12 volunteers.

That is the actual 10 people we need plus 2 alternates.

So plan your schedules and be ready for the next meeting.

See everyone this Sunday for the August meeting.

All volunteers sign in with Mary or post here.

To get you a bit more motivated, it is the the councils decision to implement the following;

Volunteers for the October Auction will receive the benefit of bringing up to 15 frags for auction.

All Non volunteers can bring up to 7 frags.

All Volunteers will also receive 3 free tickets for the grand prize drawing at the end.

Only volunteer if you are 100% sure you can be there ( emergencies and acts of God withstanding ). If you do volunteer and have to call off it will be your responsibility to find a replacement for your position.

The auction is go but once again it lies in your hands as CVRC members to decide. This is your last opportunity to pull together together, if there is no interest there will be no more "public" auctions for CVRC members.

We hope you will find these new incentives inspire you to take action and help be a part of a really fun activity that we all can benefit greatly from.

Put me down as a volunteer, regardless of incentives. Really sad that people need to be "paid" to "volunteer" ...

I don't think it's nice to say " I expect volunteers now"

I am Sorry. I did not mean to offend anyone. But the truth is that we had an auction set up for the August Meeting.

The August Auction had to be Cancelled due to lack of volunteers to work behind the scenes.

The "I expect volunteers now" was simply meant to imply the urgency and need for volunteers as soon as possible as I can not keep the auctioneers dates tied up until the last minute and then have to cancel because we can't get volunteers to help with the auction.

It is not fair to him to hold a date for us and then us cancel to late for him to get another auction to make the money he loses when we cancel.

I see nothing wrong with Mary asking for volunteers it's not happening without them, there really is no other way. If this were not a dry run the CVRC would be paying for this auction regardless of cancellation which will likely happen next time.

BTW I advise everyone who cares about the CVRC and not just the CVRC online, to be present at the next meeting there will be a BIG announcement.

..., to be present at the next meeting there will be a BIG announcement.

What was the BIG announcement?

The Big announcement was put on hold after I saw something that I have not seen in a while. I saw people learning and willing to ask questions and having fun. I saw people helping by donating time and resources most of all I saw the reason these meetings are important, if we commit to it we have as a group the ability to affect change from our seemingly small position.
However that said there is change coming to the CVRC more on that in time.

I have a suggestion. I wonder if there is anyone that could tape the meetings. I believe that there are some members of CVRC that, for reasons beyond their controll, can not make all of the meetings and would love to see what happened, kinda like how churches tape for the shutins. It would also be nice to have the meetings documented like this. Maybe this is already done, I don't know. If it is, is there anyway a person can get a copy, or maybe borrow one to watch?

We just started recording with this meeting

EEEKKK!! I get to edit my demo and destroy raw footage right?

HAHAHAHA not a chance. No really I am sure most everyone doing demos or in the crowd would like to see their part cut way down, especially Mary who didn't like seeing herself on the big screen at all and she didn't even do a demo(she helped with one but tried to stay out of camera range). But all of the demos and discussions were recorded for this meeting and when I get time I will transfer the footage to DVD then give it to Ron so he can edit it and then distribute it for the club.
