can anyone tell me what type of octo would be best for my coral tank? i know they eat everything, and i have an octo and i know he dosent eat coral so i think i can make it work. Mine is a florida coast longarm. i want a different one and wonder if there is any certain specie that would be best..Is there any coral i should stay away from?

Corals are stinging cell organisms and they can hurt octopuses sensitive skins. Also octos like to move things in the tank and corals wont like this. High light that corals need will cause octo to hide. You will have a really hard time keeping water parametres low enough with an octopus. They are few more reason why not to put an octo in a reef tank. IMO maybe a dwarf specie can be fine in a reef tank however it will be hiding all day long.

I was thinking about metal halides or more pc lighting and if you will continue with this lighting in your reef, it shouldnt be a problem. However, lighting is not the only reason why not to put an octopus to a reef tank ;)
