Octopus DNW-200 Needlewheel Recirculating Skimmer w/pump

I am in the process of building my stand, and I plan on using this skimmer (unless there is a better one for about this price), and I noticed that the model in changing. Are the dimentions staying the same?

Do you have an ETA on the new specs, or when you will be receiving them? Is it true you are out of the old ones? And last question, does the manufacture have a website?

It's looking like middle of April for the shipment. We could try and get some advanced pictures and specs on them, but often things are changed last minute, so I would recommend waiting until the final models arrive.

Sweet! Looking good. It also looks like they aren't changing the foot print, but if they do as long as it doesn't grow over 2" in any direction I will still be good. I am starting to build my stand tonight, as I have a ton of parts coming in, and I need somewhere to put all of them!!

Any chance you can let us know when you get the new models in stock or start pre-orders?

Sure, we'll post when they arrive. You can call in an ordre if you want also. It would go into a backorder stage and then once we get the inventory our system would pull out and charge and ship the order automatically.

Can a 2-yr old Octopus DNW200 be upgraded to benefit from these changes?

Unfortunatley they are using a larger diameter tubing, so it wouldn't be possible to upgrade to the new pump.

Any word yet on the footprint, or an ETA of arrival? =)

No foot print yet, but last work on ETA is they are getting them this week. So we are hoping to get stock by end of next week (hopefully)

We are still pulling them off pallets today, so might be a day or two before we can open one up and measure to make sure they didnt' change foot prints.

Sorry, not yet. We'll try and start measuring tomorrow. We've been a little short staffed.

Hi I had the LFS tell me this skimmer has been discontinued. Any truth to that?

Hi Rick,

Well in this industry, you never know. It's hard to get good information, but according to our suppliers. This model will continue to be a regular item.

For future models they plan on:
Keeping the NW & DNW with the OP pumps
Coming out with an Extreme line again with Succi pumps (spelling?)
Then expanding there PRO line.

So at least the last news I have heard is they will have 3 lines of skimmers.

I wouldn't think they would disconnue the NW & DNW though because it's a good overall skimmer with a low price tag and the pumps are readily available, which is rare thing with skimmer pumps.
