Octopus friendly?

Can I put a small octopus in a reef tank with my corals? Is it reef safe?

They tend to be escape artists, and eat a wide variety of animals. I wouldn't try it without a lot of careful research. The cephalopod forum might be useful:

octupuses are escape artists. You need a completely sealed system, and then sometimes they still find a way out! Also they are a major powerhead hasard. They will eat most fish andinvert, and should pretty much have a tank of their own. Also I beleive I read that they dont like reef lighting. But i doubt they would harm corals. I along with others would put them with sharks and rays in the EXPERT category!
