I'm not to handy with skimmers and dont know if anyone has experience with modding a Octopus Skimmer to have a recirc option to a NW-200? I know that it is not to hard to mod a ASM skimmer so I dont see why a Octopus couldnt be. Anyone know if anyone has done it or if theres some reason its not possible?

No one has done it because

1. They have recirculating models of the same skimmers.
2. The fittings are metrics. It's a bit trickier to find metric pipes and fittings.

You're right though, modding it given that you have the right material would not be hard.

I just figured some one would be trying to save some cash

NW-200
Price: 149.00

Recirc-200
Price: 389.99

I emailed octopus skimmers about a gate valve kit and a recirc kit but if not I plan to mod it myself.

FWIW This sounds weird but thinks about it. It accomplishes the same thing more or less.

This recirc mod is very to do. But you have to think outside the box. What does a recirc do? Place your NW200 in a remote sump put your input water teed into the pump intake. And you have it. A lot of the water coming out of your skimmer gets sucked back into the pump via the tee.

Bubble King skimmers plumb the feed line in directly to the pumps intake, just before the venturi.

This is 1 less hole you have to make in the main reaction chamber of the skimmer.
